Kabul, Afghanistan: American citizen Faye Hall, recently released by the Taliban, expressed her gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump in a video message, saying
"Thank you for bringing me home. I have never been so proud to be an American."
Trump shared the video on his Truth Social account, responding, "Thank you, Faye—so honored with your words!" Hall also claimed that Afghan women in prison asked her when Trump would visit, believing he could "set them free."
Hall was detained by the Taliban on February 1, along with a British couple and their Afghan translator, reportedly for unauthorized drone use. While Hall is now under the care of Qatari officials and heading home, the British couple remains in Taliban custody.
Former U.S. envoy Zalmay Khalilzad confirmed her release, stating that diplomatic efforts secured her safe return. Taliban authorities have not officially commented on the reasons behind her detention.
